What do you call drawing OTHER people, not just drawing people. For example I have a friend named John, what do you call the art of drawing him and not just drawing an imaginary person? I just want to know what you call it, how to do it will also be very very nice cause I am interested in learning. I live in the Philippines and if you know any place where there are lessons, please tell me.
Some people can draw stuff naturally, and their work looks great. My previous attempts at drawing anything (objects / people / buildings) looks like the scribblings of a demented person. I need to draw a scene for a small info-poster about Health and Safety. Thanks.
im really good at copying cartoons like tweety and taz and stuff like that, but i want to be good at drawing more realistic things. most of the people i draw look more 2-d than what i want it to look like. basically i want to be able to look at a picture of someone and be able to draw it. ive tried it so many times with pictures of myself and they never come out any good. also, my couzin gave me a book on how to draw people,but it hasnt helped too much. like its says that you have to look at the person and see the different parts of the body and brake it down from there. also, i have a problem with shading, i dont understand how to do it. my question is do you know of any good books that i can read and do you have any tips to help me make a better drawing of a person? thanxx in advance
I am learning to draw, I'm starting with pencil with the intention of moving on to pen and ink. I have recently learned that when writing I should try to keep my wrist and fingers still and use my forearm and shoulder more, is this the same with drawing? I would like to know early on so I don't need to fix it later.
